Because the stock mirrors attach to the control modules in a proprietary fashion, it can be difficult to find mirrors that fit. Not any more... The adapters are grooved and fitted with rubber O-rings to help prevent moisture from accumulating in the control housings. They also help dampen vibrations in the mirror.
